The future of work is hybrid, with some homeworkers set to gradually return to the office as the world reshapes around the pandemic. As we start venturing out, we’re likely to be carrying much more of our own tech and accessories, particularly high-touch peripherals like keyboards and mice.
Microsoft has released Windows 11 and its phased roll out commenced on 5th October. The free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PC’s. PC’s and devices that come pre-loaded with Windows 11 will become available for purchase.
This free upgrade will be phased and measured focusing on quality. New eligible devices will be offered the upgrade first, then it’ll roll out over time to other eligible devices, based on intelligence models that consider hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, age of device and other factors that impact the upgrade experience. Microsoft are expecting this to be done by mid 2022.
How eligible Windows 10 PC’s upgrade to Windows 11
If you have a Windows 10 PC that’s eligible for the upgrade, Windows Update will let you know when it’s available. You can also check to see if Windows 11 is ready for your device by going to Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates.
